change affects the seas. The presentation revealed the importance of the seas to the world and life, as well as the marine ecosystem. Its goal was to
raise awareness of this issue in the energy sector by emphasising the impact of climate change on marine life.

He was born in Tokat-Erbaa Karayaka Town. He completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Fisheries, his master's degree at Erzurum Atatürk University, and his doctorate at Ege University. Sarı, who worked at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University between 1992 and 2016, worked for the protection and sustainable fishing of the Van Lake pearl mullet for 24 years.
He worked as a manager and researcher in many national and international projects. He was a member of the founding board of the Nature Watchers Association, where he served as chairman of the board for thirteen years. In 2004, he was elected as a member of the World Social Entrepreneurs Network (ASHOKA). He became a Schwab Foundation member in 2007 Many prestigious universities, non-governmental organisations, and private organisations, particularly Oxford University, invited him to speak about the pearl mullet at international meetings. In 2017, his TEDx Istanbul speech was one of the most watched. He was in charge of management at all levels of the university. After 24 years at Van Yüzüncü Yl University, he became the founding dean of Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University Faculty of Maritime Studies in 2016 Prof.
Sarı has more than 100 scientific studies, 10 of which are books.
During the studies on the protection of Lake Van pearl mullet, he developed a new participation model "Problem Based Social Participation Model". In 2007, he was selected as "Social Entrepreneur of the Year" by Ernst&Young, Milliyet Newspaper and Schwab Foundation. His work on Lake Van has been awarded by many different institutions and organisations. Prof. Sarı is also a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) and the World Entrepreneurship Forum (WEnF). He has held administrative positions such as head of department, head of department, centre director, board member, senate member and dean at the university. Currently working as the Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University, Sarı is married to Sevil Hanım and is the father of Ömer Faruk and Ayşe Zülal.
