The panellists will discuss their experiences regarding the price determination processes for natural disaster coverage, the potential impacts of the Istanbul
earthquake scenario on the insurance industry, the role of insurance in risk management strategies, customer awareness, and the transformation of insurance from a mere purchasing process. The panel will conclude by discussing the impact of the insurance industry's performance on damages, customer expectations from insurance companies, and providing an overall assessment of these factors.

In 1998, after graduating from Boğaziçi University, Department of Mathematics, he started working as a research assistant at Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences. During this 3-year period, Murat Gençer completed his master's degree programme at Marmara University, Department of Economics in English. Following his military service, he started working as a Financial Analyst at Philip Morris Sabancı. After 5.5 years, he switched to the risk management profession with Eurobank Tekfen and Fortis Pension.
Afterwards, he carried out training and consultancy activities at Risk Turk Software Technologies, while completing his PhD programme in Financial Economics at Yeditepe
University. During this period, Murat Gençer, who lectured at Istanbul Commerce University risk management doctoral programme, moved to Zorlu Holding in 2012 and played a role in the establishment of the Corporate Risk Management department. As of 2019, he started working as Financial Risk Management Manager at Şişecam. Finally, he continues to work as Risk Director at Sabancı Holding, where he started in 2022

Having graduated from Bogaziçi University Chemical Engineering, Kıvanç has joined Marsh in 2010 as part of the Construction, Power and Utilities division. There, his role included client servicing and marketing for power generation clients, electricity, and gas distribution companies as well as big infrastructure projects both in Turkey and abroad. He managed the accounts in a Client Executive role and as a Broker dealing directly with Local and Overseas insurance and reinsurance markets.
In 2017, he has joined Enerjisa Üretim as an Insurance Expert and been dealing with insurance renewals of Enerjisa Üretim’s operational global program, project insurances and local insurance acquisitions, technical risk management and claims management processes since then.

Started as a client executive in Marsh Turkey. Lastly, was the head of Industrial Clients Department at Marsh Turkey. The department services and prospects all companies above 500M USD turnover in Turkey, except power/energy companies and contractors. Recently, appointed as the general manager of ESİ Eczacıbaşı Sigorta. Founded first Turkish global insurance programs of Turkish multinationals in line with international insurance standards. Interested in natural sciences and especially in physics and cosmology. Classical music enthusiast and amateur piano player. Was ranked second in Turkish university entrance exam (1997 ÖYS) and first in Galatasaray high school graduation.

Barış Altın obtained his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Marmara University and later pursued a master's degree in Business Administration and Economics from Yeditepe University. He has accumulated over 23 years of experience working in different roles at AXA Sigorta. He held positions as the Head of Actuarial and Risk Management, Head of Corporate and Commercial Technical, International Business Development, International Financial Reporting, and Strategic Planning Director. Starting from 1 August 2023, Barış Altın is currently employed at AXA Sigorta as the President and Executive Committee Member in charge of overseeing all fundamental divisions of Technical and Reinsurance. He is responsible for managing both individual and corporate product groups within a unified framework.
